Natural Wooden Elk Puzzle

This wooden puzzle is designed to introduce children to the magic of animals. The puzzle is naturally finished so once they have put the 6 piece puzzle together they can colour it in, stand it up, draw around it - whatever they please! The edges of each piece are bevelled so they can easily be picked up and handled. The first layer introduces the animal, eliminating the background and focusing entirely on the figure, the second layer is the animal back to the wild world. The wooden puzzle pieces are nearly 2 cm thick and are specially designed to be easily accessible for small hands.

Eguchi Toys believes that good toys must be suitable for different stages of development and learning for children.

After more than 10 years of teaching at Ivy’s House Montessori Kindergarten in Taipei, Ken Eguchi, who also has a Major in Fine Arts, wanted to create toys that can be both educational and beautiful pieces of art.

  • Suitable for ages 3 and up
  • Puzzle sits in a wooden frame for display
  • Comes in a lovely gift box for easy gift-giving
  • Made from Beech and plywood.

Maker Profile

Eguchi Toys

Eguchi Toys was created by Kentaro Eguchi in 2013 as he felt that current toys were too simple and underestimated the child’s ability and creativity.

Kentaro was born in Japan and trained in Fine Arts in New York, then later qualified as a Montessori teacher for three to six-year-olds and established his own childcare centre which he has had for over 17 years.

Handmade in Taiwan, Eguchi Toys are mostly made from teak, walnut, oak, cherry and maple wood. FSC Certified wood from New Zealand is his medium of choice.
