Light in summer and warm in winter. Merino wool is a versatile natural fibre that you will want to wear all year round. The thin-ribbed crew neck is so soft and light that you will forget you’re even wearing it. Ideal as innerwear even in the colder seasons as you layer up. The temperature adjusts without letting the warmth escape - the heat retention is outstanding. Merino wool is also suitable in winter for those who tend to perspire and feel the cold.

Sustainability:
ZQ Merino wool producers are directly connected to brands selling Merino wool products to the markets through long-term contracts. This kind of contract also means that supply chains are fully traceable, from farmer to final product. ZQ Merino wool farmers understand the needs of the end-user and make sure they can produce wool in a sustainable manner for years to come.
Traceability:
In the past, it was impossible for sheep farmers to know where wool sold at auction ended up, and what kind of products it was used in. Instead of selling in an auction, ZQ Merino wool is sold through a direct deal between the producers and the final product manufacturers. This means farmers can follow their wool on its journey right from sheep to the final product.

YARN nz
Based in Aotearoa New Zealand, YARN nz was started by Yoko Shimoyama who moved to Auckland from Japan in 2011. YARNnz is a comfortable merino wool innerwear label committed to creating positive change. They've made a conscious decision to only use renewable & sustainable fibres and ethical manufacturing. YARN nz partner with farms that respect animal welfare and make sure that they can trace every material they use back to its original source.
We view merino as a treasure from Aotearoa's beautiful natural world and their hope is to share that beauty with you. YARN's goal is to deliver collections that are utilitarian, minimal and convey an understated sense of femininity.
YARN's merino wool is sourced from New Zealand and their clothes are proudly made in Japan.
With love from New Zealand.
Merino wool is beautifully soft and luxurious - a natural super-fibre that is perfect as your base layer. The individual fibres are extremely fine, meaning that it is supremely soft directly against the skin. It is anti-static so it won't cling to your skin and it doesn't attract lint or duct. It provides excellent UV protection and is naturally fire-resistant. Merino wool naturally absorbs and releases moisture to keep you dry and comfortable. It has the unique ability to stabilise body temperature and naturally suppress odour.
Guardianship for the sky, the sea, and the land
At YARN, we work in harmony with the Maori concept of ‘kaitiaki’.
In ‘Kaitiaki,’ there is no natural hierarchy, and humans are just one of many natural elements that make up a much larger, global family. Yarn's ZQ Merino wool supplier also embraces this concept. Their wool is produced in accordance with the highest level of environmental standards and they take great care to protect the skies, the sea and the Earth.
The sheep that supply ZQ merino live a free-range life, eating fresh grass and breathing the clean mountain air of the South Island. Dedicated and accredited farmers look after the sheep and they are committed to guarding the land which is a reflection of their commitment to world-class eco standards. These healthy and natural approaches mean our merino fibre is the highest quality, and like kaitiaki teaches us, one part of the natural world.
