We want you to sleep well. And good sleep starts with peace of mind.
Bailey Meredith and Greta van der Star created General Sleep on a cold night in front of the fire, dreaming of the perfect PJ’s.
Made from sustainably sourced cotton-linen and woven on handlooms in India, General Sleep’s collection of sleepwear has been beautifully considered to soften with time.
Blurring the line between what you wear to bed and what you wear outside, there is now no need to change when you answer the door or pop out to the shops for fresh bread. And for those slow afternoons, it’s simply: togs on and straight to the ocean.
To trace our process and offer utmost transparency to our wearers, we recently visited the community of weavers, that our pyjama collections are created in collaboration with, in the South of India.
Originally set up to preserve the handloom techniques, the initiative supports the local community by paying their weavers a living wage.
Working in large passive buildings equipped with solar power and utilising as much green technology as possible, the weaver's handloom our bespoke fabric from locally sourced cotton, which is then hand cut and stitched on site.
Meeting our weavers has enriched our process and desire to continue creating a kind and meaningful exchange.
We make sure; you can rest easy in General Sleep.
