Design by Rina Ono 小野里奈
I sincerely design products so that my creative essence cuddles up to the user's life – In 2001 I Graduated with a MA from the Tohoku University of Art and Design, Yamagata, Japan and went on to study at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Sweden. Back in Japan I then worked as an assistant at the Tohoku University of Art and Design leading to launching my own "Rinao design studio" in 2007.

Chushin Kobo

Chushin Kobo, a traditional casting iron workshop, proposes items that fit modern lifestyle.  There is a number of craft techniques built around tea ceremony.  Taking each of them and combining with new designs creates a new lifestyle tool.  The workshop was founded in 1997, originally aiming to produce and distribute the items designed by Hisanori Masuda, who has led the workshop and later collaborated with ONO Rina to broaden the product lines.

Goods that are made from organically grown materials and are free from harmful chemicals and pesticides.

In an effort to reduce waste, the design of these goods are either part or wholly made from up-cycled or previously used materials. These can be either salvaged directly in their current form or from recycled materials, such as paper, glass or metal.

Goods made from materials that can be replenished at the rate they are consumed, all with minimal environmental and social impact. Such as FSC wood, bamboo and wool.

These goods are produced by artisans or companies that are open, honest, and straightforward about their business operations. Transparency builds trust, from makers through to customers.
