The Sammu candle snuffer is a harmonious blend of art and function, born from a collaboration between Nedre Foss and the design duo, Mika and Julie Tolvanen. Inspired by the organic forms found in nature, Sammu’s delicate, fruit-like shape is a captivating centrepiece for any room.

Crafted from matte brass, a material new to the Nedre Foss collection, Sammu offers a warm, tactile quality. Designed as much as a sculptural object as a utilitarian tool, Sammu complements the Ildhane candlestick, creating a sophisticated and balanced ensemble. Whether extinguishing flames or simply gracing a tabletop, Sammu is a testament to the power of thoughtful design.

The Finnish name for candle snuffer is ‘kynttilänsammutin’ but the root word ‘sammu’ is slang for having extinguished a fire or put out a lamp.
