Nishiguchi Kutsushita built their name on the quietly perfect plain sock, which makes the Oslo something of an occasion – one of the few times the Nara workshop lets a pattern onto the foot. It's named for the Nordic city of galleries and good design, and it wears its jacquard with the same restraint: a considered geometric in soft seagull blue and cream, handsome rather than loud.

Underneath the pattern is the part that matters. The wool is washed multiple times before it's ever knitted – which leaves it all but shrink-proof and gives the sock a deep, pile-like plush. It's the kind of volume that's warm the moment you pull them on. A whisper of nylon and elastane keeps everything hard-wearing, so a sock this soft has no business lasting as long as it does.
