Toilet Brush with Concrete Cup
Toilet brush with cup in polymer mix concrete and brush in birchwood with durable polypropylene bristles.
Soft concrete, moulded by hand in a small foundry outside of Stockholm, is an innovative material made by including a small addition of polymers, and as a result, the concrete becomes elastic and pliable. It contains no environmentally harmful substances while retaining the characteristics of a resilient stone material, but with a smooth, pleasant feel to it. Varying smoothness and colour variations occur on the surface due to the irregularities of the crafting technique, which add to the vibrant and unique expression in each piece.

Best not to fill the concrete cup with water and cleaning detergent and have the brush standing in it. Use the brush with toilet cleaners, clean the toilet, shake out excessive and place the brush in the concrete cup.
Made by Iris Hantverk, who hire and support visually impaired craftspeople to create many of their beautiful and functional products.
1870's Stockholm: The birthplace of a brush manufacturing revolution. Now, as then, every brush is made by hand, but what sets Iris Hantverk apart is not just the quality of their goods, but the process behind their creation. Each brush is meticulously crafted by visually impaired craftsmen. This unique approach adds an extra layer of depth and sensitivity to each and every brush, redefining the concept of handmade craftsmanship.
Today there are 17 employees at Iris Hantverk. The core of the business is the brush binding manufacturing at Sandsborgsvägen – here a team of visually impaired craftsmen make brushes according to an old Swedish tradition. They also work with visually impaired craftsmen in Estonia. They too have a history strongly connected to the visual impairments movement.
Join Iris Hantverk on their journey as they continue to create and share their exceptional brushes with the world, keeping tradition alive one brush at a time.
